Christmas Tree Greeting Card

Christmas Tree Greeting Card Items Needed
  • Card Stock or Blank Note Card
  • Ribbon
  • Button (optional)
  • Holiday-Designed Paper
  • Glitter
  • Pentel Arts Metallic Brush Pens
  • Pentel Arts Tape'n Glue
  • Pentel Arts Sunburst Metallic
       Gel Pens
  • Pentel Sign Pen

    1. Using the Pentel Arts Metallic Brush Pens in Red and Light Green, "paint" the front of the card using long, sweeping strokes. Try to alternate the colors to create a natural look. Then paste the Holiday Design Paper over the front, so you can leave the middle of the card "unpainted". Give it a minute or two to dry thoroughly.

    2. Cut the Holiday design paper to the desired size. Use Pentel Arts Tape'n Glue adhesive around the edges on the back of the paper and stick the paper carefully onto the front of the card.

  • 3. Take the Pentel Arts Metallic Brush Pen in Light Green and paint the triangle piece of cardstock. This is going to be a holiday tree (Hint: add a second color, like regular green, to give the tree more depth).

    4. While the tree is drying, paint the other piece of cardstock (the rectangle) using the Pentel Arts Metallic Brush Pen in Silver. If your Festive Holiday Message Button is made of paper (or another porous material), you can paint a little silver around the edges of that as well to make it "pop". (Hint: scrapbooking pieces work great for this if you have them, but you can get the same effect by printing something off your home computer and carefully cutting it out!)

    5. Take your tree from Step 3 and cut it into 3 pieces. Use the Pentel Arts Sunburst Metallic Gel Pens in Gold and Silver to draw a border inside each piece, about 1/8" in from the edge.

    6. Use Pentel Arts Tape'n Glue adhesive on the edges of the back of the tree pieces, and place the tree pieces onto the silver painted cardstock. Leave some space between the pieces, and place them asymmetrical.

    7. Take your piece of ribbon and tie it around the top of the silver cardstock piece. You can add a line of glue before you tie it on so it stays in place better. Or a dab of hot glue if you have it. Tie the ribbon in a knot and glue on a button for extra flair - or, if you do not have a button, tie the ribbon into a pretty bow.

    8. Glue the silver cardstock piece to the main card, using Pentel Arts Tape'n Glue adhesive and either white or hot glue to help adhere the top (where the ribbon is located)

    9. Now take your white glue and trace the outline of the silver cardstock piece, try to make one solid, thin outline. Next place a small rectangle of glue at the "bottom" of the tree to make a trunk and a star at the top. Sprinkle enough gold glitter to cover all the white glue. Give it a few minutes to dry, and shake the loose glitter off the card.

    10. Using a small piece of foam tape if you have it, or a dot of glue, attach your festive holiday message button right in the middle of your card.

    11. Once everything is dry, add a sentimental message inside your card. The Pentel Sign Pen is perfect for writing personal messages to a friend or family member! Give the card to a valued friend or family member and watch his or her face light up with excitement!
