with inspiration. And inspiration is a byproduct of education, learning and support. Pentel Arts (a wholly owned business division of Pentel of America Ltd.) and the Angels Gate
Cultural Center have partnered to promote the Harbor Youth Arts Initiative, which supports LA Harbor-area students in arts education, self-awareness and community.
Pentel has been manufacturing innovative and quality art supplies for more than 60 years, and is also well known for its high quality writing instruments.

Established in 1946 as The Japan Stationery Co., the organization got its start selling school supplies such as watercolors, crayons and oil pastels.
Since 1982, the Angels Gate Cultural Center has provided resources in support of artists and art education to individuals of all ages. Angels Gate touts the largest children's arts education program in the LA Harbor area. With year-round exhibitions and public events focusing on local and global cultures, 48 artists in 45 professional studios on-campus, and an international network of artists and patrons, it is no small wonder that Angels Gate reaches out to over 4000 inner-city children, annually.
Pentel Arts and Angels Gate have partnered in the Adopt a School program, whereby artists/teachers go into the classroom, collaborate with resident school teachers, and provide the highest quality fine arts education and standards-based arts instruction to inner-city students that might not otherwise be exposed to the arts. In conjunction with artists in the classroom, fieldtrips to Angels Gate Cultural Center and two professional on-campus workshops, Pentel has also donated art and school supplies to round out the experience.
"We are very pleased and excited to announce this partnership. Not only will we be promoting and supporting the arts and art education for generations to come, but most importantly we will be contributing to the overall growth, health and well-being of our most prized human resource - our children," says Peter Katz, Marketing Director of Pentel America, Ltd.
